Even though it was yesterday I am still resting from the long trip from Connecticut to New Jersey which is verry long, so I figured I post a picture from the event.

Arrrg I must apologize for the continual lack in updates but my laptop has officially crashed due to an over run in viruses that basically took over my computer and crashed it into oblivion, now I am forced to use my my friend's computer(frustrating). Ironically these viruses chose to destroy my computer right after I was released from the clutches of college work and now free for summer break, So hopefully in the coming week I will have the computer fixed or even a new computer.
Until then stay healthy and virus free!
Matsu
Man its been a while since I have posted anything on here because of the amount of college work that was shoved down each student's throat during the last two weeks of the semester, but on a positive note I'm out on summer break and now free to do what ever I want. And even though its been two weeks since the last post I have no energy to do anything but sleep and I must apolligize for the lack in updates.
So to kick off the start of my free summer I wanted to post this vid of my one of my favorite professional drift teams: Team Falken at Formula D round 1 in Long Beach, California taken by Wrecked Magazine!
Team Falken consits of mostly V8 power drift machines with most popular blue and green paint scheme.
Team line-up:
Vaughn Gitten Jr in the 2010 Ford Mustang
Tyler McQuarrie in the Nissan 350Z Convertible
Calvin Wan in the Nissan S15 Silvia
Darren
McNamara in the Sears Auto Center Saturn Sky
Dai
Yoshihara in the Discount Tire Lexus IS350.
So Enjoy!
I have noticed that I have been convering the US Pro Drift series lately so I will be posting information on the Japan series (D1 Grand Prix), Super GT, FIA, and more in the coming weeks so keep posted!

Over the years
This is one of those weekends where I say "Man! I wish I could be a millionare".
This weekend Aston Martin unveiled the "Aston Martin One-77" which is their latest concept car in Italy just in time as the Concurso d'Eleganza was in session and grabbing the Design Award at the same time which is pretty crazy.
What even impressed me the most beyond the design was in fact that Aston Martin even brought the One-77 with a working powertrain and complete interior (which most manufaturers unveil concept cars with no interior or in working condition).
However I found that the One-77 is priced to be about $2 million, which seems to be expected from most auto-manufacturers now that supercars are becoming so much more sophisticated than ever since the 2008 Nissan GT-R broke the mold of the standard supercar by featuring performance, amazing technology, precise engineering, and innovative design intergated in to the GT-R.

The Scion brand has been at the fore front of the "out of the box ready for street legal tuning compatibility" movement since 2002 with its highly successful Tc model participating in various genres of racing such as Drag racing, Grand Touring, Time Attack, and most recently now Drift.
Although the Scion Tc is originally manufactured as a FF (front wheel drive), some teams much like Team RS-R has now converted the FF platform to RWD (rear wheel drive) by using the Toyota Avensis chassis (which is very similar to the Tc chassis ) which is AWD (all wheel drive) and converting that setup to RWD....huhh what a mouth full.
Well now thats what Team AEM has done with their new Tc for the Formula D 2009 season baring the Rockstar Energy Drink sponsor and using Hankook tires this rather than Toyo tires last year. Team AEM has been very successful in most recent years with their Nissan 350z winning the 2007 and 2008 FD series and taking third place in the Red Bull World Drift competition last year.
Yet this year it seems like AEM just wants to kick it up another level with the Tc.
For the 09 FD season, Team AEM and 07- 08 FD champion driver Tanner Foust piloting the Tc may not have such an agressive looking car like the other teams competing in Formula D but this may be one of those cars that will be a nightmare for opposing drivers to face on the track already taking third in round 1 at Long Beach, California.

I found this perfect footage of drifting in the Touge! Many people may have already seen this video but I have to absolutely post this vid because its so perfect (no shakyness and better view of how gangster drifting is in the mountains). This vid was from Rob from his Roadsterdrift.com blog.
Enjoy!
Happy Easter Everyone!
As summer approaches so does the race season as more genres of racing start up for their season of roaring engines and burning tires. Well this weekend was the season opener round 1 of the US pro drift series known as Formula D which was held in Long Beach, California. This year Formula D is stepping up the competition since last year was such a progressive year with many drivers competing were from overseas which resulted in some fierce competition for US drivers forcing them to work even harder with D1GP pros like Takahiro Ueo and Mr.Orido competing while making a powerful presence on the track. With FD becoming more well known with each year passing, FD is becoming a force to be recon-with since Japan thinks that they can hold Best Drifter in the World Belt(so Japan better watch out).
Although I did miss Round 1 and will end up missing the rounds coming up, however I hope be in the States in time to catch Round 3 in New Jersey which I attended last year and was absolutely amazing. Anyhow heard form on of my friends back home that the event was amazing with all of the Teams new cars including Jr.'s 2010 Mustang, Tanner Foust's drift Scion Tc, and many other amazing cars.
Surprisingly Round 1 was won by Ryan Tuerck and his rebuilt Pontiac Solstice which is great for him because last year he had one of the slowest cars on the track, so my hats off to him. While second place went to Sam Hubinette and his doge viper leaving third place to 07&08 Champ Tanner Foust and his Scion Tc.
So thats about it for this instalment but there is more to come as fast as I get the time to post.
